As a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO), we also strive to support our customers’ sustainability commitments through close partnership. As part of our commitment to society, our people and the environment, we complete a thorough assessment of our business sustainability practices every year through EcoVadis, the global standard for business sustainability ratings. The EcoVadis assessment covers four core themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.
In our latest rating, AGC Biologics was awarded the gold medal for our sustainability initiatives in Copenhagen! This award recognizes our sustainability management system as being in the top 5% across all global companies, regardless of industry.
At the core of all our global sites lies a robust foundation of an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management system certified per ISO standards 14001, 50001, & 45001 – supporting sustainability. Each site adheres to the global EHS Management system focused on moving towards achieving ISO certification in all three standards as per plan and obtaining the EcoVadis sustainability rating as well.
This comprehensive approach aligns with our organization's commitment to minimizing our environmental impact, ensuring the well-being of our employees, and contributing to a sustainable future. While celebrating our achievements, we recognize that sustainability is a journey, not a destination. The data-driven evaluation highlighted areas where we excelled and those demanding attention. We want to showcase our commitment to sustainable practices through embracing transparency and continuous improvement.
Our next steps involve continuing our journey of commitment to improvement and working towards important ESG goals in 2024 and beyond, including setting ambitious targets for further reducing our environmental impact, enhancing social responsibility initiatives, and fostering innovation in sustainable business practices.
